Rock on Rose, better known as "Lusty", is owned by the one and only, Bruce Davidson. Its a new ride to me this year as of April. My good mate, James Alliston did the majority of the training on her along side Bruce, to get her to the Advanced level last year in 2007. After James changed jobs from being Bruce's main rider, I got called up from the former two-time world champion, to see if I was available to ride this brilliant mare.
Without hesitation, I drove straight over to Chesterland to place myself under the microscope of Bruce Davidson. Lusty is 100% Chesterland bred. She is by Lust, a homebred stallion of Bruce's, who is out of J.J. Babu's full sister. This chestnut mare has it all; superb movement combined not only with a sensational jump but a wonderful ability to never give up. She's been expertly trained by Bruce and Jimmy, and it's been a real honor taking over this ride as she's reaching the pinacle of her career.
We have had a successful run thus far with a 4th place finish in the CIC*** at Jersey Fresh and a 10th place finish at the CCI*** in Bromont, Canada. We chose to scratch her at CCI*** at Fair Hill in October due to the conditions, but had an amazing 11th place finish at Rolex CCI**** out of a field of 50+ horses!
This is a serious horse for the future & it has been an honor wearing Bruce's colors.
