Silva met Meg Williams in 2007 when Meg came to try Silva’s Grand Prix horse, Theopolis Thisla W. Although Meg decided not to purchase Silva’s horse, she returned a few months later after a trip to Germany with a video of a German mare for Silva to evaluate.
"I'd been looking for a nice dressage horse for a couple of years.....tried to buy a few, but nothing passed the vet. I was quite specific with what I was looking for... a 17+hand, gelding, nice gaits, with a clean change, some type of a competition record.....and then a friend and I saw FS Tiger Lily in Germany. She was 16.1h, 4 years old, recently broke, and a chestnut mare....definitely not what I wanted! I rode her anyway, and she was incredible."
Lily is a very exciting 5 year-old mare who won with Silva at Dressage at Devon in 2007 shortly after arriving in America. Lily also won training levels in Wellington and Area 1 in 2008 with scores in the high seventy’s and is going to show at Dressage at Devon 2008 in the 5 year old class.
As noted by Meg, "Silva is a wonderful rider, teacher, trainer and truly cares about the welfare of her horses. She is not only an amazing rider, but is also so honest and approachabe. She has done an outstanding job with Lily in just one short year. She began by winning at Devon and her success on Lily has continued, winning numerous championships during Lily's short show career. I know Silva has a fabulous future ahead of her."
