While a massive rainstorm washed through New Jersey today, saturating the ground and flooding roads, Boyd was able to pilot all six horses clear around the cross country course at the Jersey Fresh International Three-Day Event at the Horse Park of New Jersey in Allentown.

Christine Turner’s Kyra and Gloria Callen and Nancy Hathaway’s Tura Lura were first out in the CCI2* and each added just two times fault, with Kyra currently in 2nd and Tura Lura sitting 5th heading into tomorrow’s show jumping.

Only four double clear rounds were posted all day, and all of them were in the CCI2*. In spite of the organizers’ excellent efforts to keep the footing in good shape throughout the day, the torrential downpour took its toll and the going was slow by afternoon. In the CIC2*, the last division of the day to run, Long Island T, owned by the Long Island T Syndicate, who is competing for the first time at this level, added 29.4 time faults and moved from 2nd to 5th place. Ray Price jumped from 13th to 7th place on a relatively quick pace, adding 14.4 time faults.

In the CIC3*, Chris Turner’s Tsetserleg moved up to 3rd from 8th place, again with more than 20 time faults; Stephen Blauner and Nancy Hathaway’s Bonito moved up two places to sit in 9th.

Thanks to the Chronicle of the Horse for including these great photos of Bonito in their coverage yesterday.  http://www.chronofhorse.com/article/little-leads-going-into-jersey-fresh-cic-cross-country
