Carolina International 2017

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nRoZK7rqSz0 I had a very successful Carolina International CIC with six horses and my assistant Mike Penn rode two of the younger horses. I’m proud that they all ran clear cross country and had a total of one rail down in show jumping. The Carolina International is a great competition and all the horses performed well and came out of the event with confidence and good mileage. I've got lots of videos posted here <https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCeX50m6dcv2CKQUu5s5RnGg> Read more...

Pancho Villa SOLD

A Young Rider from Minnesota has purchased Pancho Villa in pursuit of competing at the upper levels of eventing. The plan is for them to get to know each other, and with a bit of luck we might see them at the NAJYRC later this year. We are glad to see Panch Villa move on to the next stage of his career. Pancho has been a wonderful horse over the years and taken me right up to the CCI3* level,  and obviously highlight was Individual 4th and team gold at the Pan Am games in Toronto in 2015. I’d Read more...

Wrapping up our Wellington Tour at AGDF 10

Electric, who’s owned by George and Julia Strawbridge and Nancy Hathaway was awesome. He’s green for the 5-year-old FEI classes but won his class with 82%! I think he’s a very special horse. He’s probably qualified already and I’m definitely planning to take him to the National Championships in Chicago later this year. I also rode Electric Girl, owned by Elaine and Jesse Ebzery. She is Electric’s sister, and she was great. She won the first day with 70% and the next day was second Read more...

Mark and Nancy Johnson’s 18 Acre Farm is On the Market!

A very special place for the equine/animal/country enthusiast. This 18 acre farmette is heaven. Lovingly cared for and so enjoyed by its present owners. But now it is time for them to move on. This very unusual southern Chester County equestrian property is composed of 2 separately deeded parcels -- a 6.9-acre piece on which the house, barn, paddocks and riding arena are located; and an adjoining 11+-acre lot which has a 40’ x 80’ utility building on it. Blue Ribbons for All at AGDF and Palm Beach Derby CDI

I was really happy with both of my young horses, Electric and Jada W, who won at the Palm Beach Derby CDI on both days, which was really exciting. They both had good scores and I was very happy with the comments from the judges. Both horses need to get a little stronger in places, which is normal especially so early in the year. They didn’t make any mistakes and I was very happy with them. It was exciting to have Julia Strawbridge come out and cheer on Electric! It was also thrilling for me to Read more...

AGDF CDI in Wellington

We had a great start to my first CDI since Nox was born! Both horses went very well for me at the Adequan Global Dressage Festival 8 and Palm Beach Dressage Derby, winning the FEI 5 and 6 year old preliminary tests in the CDI. Electric was so brave and did not look at anything in that scary International ring! He needs to get stronger in everything, but he did a great test and it is still very early in the year for all of these young horses. It was fun to have owner Julia Strawbridge come out Read more...

Videos of Contessa Schooling at Stable View

Here are some quick videos of Contessa, owned by Gloria Callen, Densey Juvonen, Fernanda Kellogg, and Kelly Morgan, schooling at Stable View Farm in Aiken, SC.  We decided to put a number of the cross country portables, built by ETB Equine Construction, in the outdoor jumping ring, which has excellent all-weather footing by Attwood Equestrian Surfaces. As you can see, Contessa is a jumping machine! Link to Videos courtesy of Courtney Cooper and Neil Camens. Read more...

Onward and Upward with Steady Eddie

After Rolex Kentucky last year I put Steady Eddie on the market. But ever since Eddie the Eagle heard he might be sold, he’s been proving to me that he is one of the best Advanced horses in the country. I talked to my co-owners of Eddie, George and Gretchen Wintersteen, Denise Lahey and Pierre Colin, and we’ve decided to take him off the market and push on with him. After I competed in the Olympics last summer I think we all had a little wake-up call as to how important a great cross-country Read more...
