Congratulations to Mike Pendleton

A big Congratulations must go to Boyd’s assistant rider Mike Pendleton who has been crowned the USEA Training Level Adult Rider of the year for 2017.

Mike has had an incredible year of competing several of Boyd’s up and coming young horses. The owners of the young event horses have had to put a lot of faith in Mike, and it has paid off.  He has had many, many wins on many different horses.
Mike has now worked for Boyd for five years. Boyd said, “Mike has always been soft, balanced rider and has a wonderful talent with the horses, but it was not until this year that he learned how to win!”
Mike accomplished all of this in spite of having two nasty injuries during the past year. In January a horse that he was starting tripped and fell over, resulting in a broken collarbone for Mike , and in August he had an unfortunate fall cross-country and sustained multiple fractures to his eye socket and cheek bone.
Mike is an excellent example of hard work paying off. To finish the year as the leading rider in the USA in one of the more popular levels of the sport is a phenomenal effort. Congratulations Mike!
