Windurra Event Horses Relocate to Aiken, SC for Winter Season

After the most pleasantly warm and relaxing December in our time here in the U.S., it’s time to start getting serious with the event horses.
Over November and December all of the event horses had a 3-5 week vacation. They all worked hard in 2015, so it was a well deserved rest.  For our crew of hard working staff it was also a good chance to go home and see their families for a short time.
Since the horses came back into work, we have been gently building them up with lots of hacking. This winter was the first time we had the new track from Attwood Equestrian Surfaces at our farm in PA.  I must say, it made all of the trotting and jogging and slow canters awesome in December.  I feel like we have got the horses in good shape to hit the ground running in Aiken.
On the 2nd of January we transported most of the horses down to the beautiful Stable View farm in Aiken, South Carolina. We did leave all of the two and three-year-olds at home, along with one or two injured horses that need a bit more time for rehabilitation.
Stable View is the premier eventing facility in Aiken, also with Attwood footing in their arenas, and with cross-country courses built by ETB Equine Construction, who have also built our schooling course back in PA. Stable View is the ideal location for Windurra’s winter base, to give our horses and riders the best possible facilities to train at peak performance.
Stay tuned as we kick off 2016!
