Thank You to the National Bank of Malvern

I must say that Coronavirus is having an effect on everyone around the world and Silva and I are grateful to be surrounded by supportive owners, sponsors and employees. Last week the US Government released 2 trillion dollars partly to help small businesses like ours pay the salaries of our employees. Like most equestrian businesses, Windurra qualified for this wonderful Payroll Protection Program to help offset the loss we’re all feeling. The only catch was your bank had to lodge the application Read more...

Virtual Dressage Show at Stable View

Today at Windurra USA we were very excited to be able to compete in a dressage competition hosted by Stable View! Due to physical dressage shows being cancelled because of the current health situation, Stable View took the lead on creating a new sort of competition experience: a Virtual Horse Show! Its a really fun idea and a good way to keep in shape and motivated for when we can attend shows again. Silva competed two horses in today's event: Halimey Go and Gambado. Halimey Go is a 2005 Read more...

Remembering Tricia Boone

I can’t begin to tell everyone how sad I was to get the news that Tricia Boone had passed away last week. Tricia has been a great friend and supporter for many years. She was an absolute gem of a lady that was one of a kind. I first got connected with Tricia through a common friend Gloria Callen and my first Olympic Horse Otis Barbotiere. After Otis finished his eventing career he went down to Wellington and partnered up with Tricia’s two daughters Catie and Ali. Both the girls show jumped Read more...

Looking at the Big Picture after Tokyo 2020 Postponed

A couple of days ago, all of the High Performance athletes in equestrian sport received the news that the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games have been postponed. We were half expecting this news as the terrible Covid-19 virus continues to spread around the world. This pandemic is bigger than the Olympics, and it didn't make sense to push through with much of the world fighting for survival. On a personal level, I have a horse in top form that could have really given the Olympic Games a good Read more...

US Equestrian Federation Statement on the 2020 Olympic Games

USEF STATEMENT: We have received confirmation that the IOC and Organizing Committee of the Tokyo 2020 Olympic & Paralympic Games have jointly decided to postpone the Tokyo 2020 Olympic & Paralympic Games to 2021. While we are all extremely disappointed the Tokyo 2020 Olympic & Paralympic Games will not move forward as planned this summer, we fully support the decision to postpone to 2021, prioritizing athlete, staff, and spectator safety and health during this challenging time. Windurra Eventers Migrating North

The Windurra Eventing crew is back home in Pennsylvania and happy to dig in to work here on the farm. In hindsight we were very lucky that we decided to enter so many horses at the Pine Top Spring Horse Trials in Georgia last weekend. Pine Top is one of my favorite events, it’s got a beautiful cross country course: good footing, open, galloping courses and a well-designed track. Between Mike, me and a large portion of our staff we ran most of  the horses our barn. A few of the mature horses Read more...

Silva’s Clinic at Wheatland Farm

Silva spent Monday teaching a full day's clinic at beautiful Wheatland Farm in Purcellville, Virginia. This is a monthly clinic and is open to auditors, from which 100% of proceeds benefit the Wheatland Farm Equestrian Center's therapeutic and Para-dressage programs. Several clinic participants were para equestrians and Silva said, "It's always inspiring to work with para riders. They've overcome so much. After my own accident and brain injury, I can relate better to their circumstances. Wheatland Read more...
