Boyd’s Update from Wellington, Florida

The last ten days I’ve spent in Wellington, Florida with five of my upper-level horses. Phillip Dutton and I were encouraged to do this exercise from our new High Performance coach Eric Duvander and I must say it’s been a humbling experience jumping against the pros and competing at the AGDF 5* dressage show among some of the best in the world but I’m also inspired, and it’s going very well.

Phillip and I have been working with dressage trainer Scott Hassler from Maryland for the past year. We’ve been training with Scott monthly up north and daily down here in Florida. Our jumping coach Richard Picken also made the trip with us and has been schooling us at our stable and coaching us in the classes at the Winter Equestrian Festival (WEF).

One of the horses I brought down is an exciting young 2* mare, Contessa. She’s a German sport horse by Contender and she’s owned by Club Contessa: a group of Fernanda Kellogg, Densey Juvonen, Gloria Callen and Kelly Morgan

Aboveis a video of training with Scott and Richard, a jumping round at WEF and today’s dressage test at the AGDF.

Long Island T also won his class today too – here are RESULTS
