Bucks County Dressage

A local, recognized dressage show in Bucks County, PA provided the perfect first show venue for Boyd and Silva’s youngest dressage horses, Jada W and Jax W.

Jada W is a four-year-old mare by Jive Magic, (Jazz x Frühling) out of a Wolkenstein II mare. Jada is an impressive young horse and in her first go in the USEF Four-Year-Old Test 2015 she received first place with a 77.6 for overall impression. This mare is very special with three exceptional gaits and tons of natural talent, showing tremendous presence in the ring despite the fact it was her first time off the farm! It will be fun to see her go at Devon later this year.

Jax W, also just four years old, is a gelding by Jive Magic (Jazz x Frühling) out of a Brentano II mare. Jax did great, was very brave, and received a 71.087 and second place in his first Training Level Test 1. He is a very kind, serious-minded, talented horse – it will be fun to see him grow up this year.

Joulua W is a bit older, a 5-year-old homebred mare, also produced by Windurra, by Jive Magic (Jazz x Fruehling) out of a Wolkenstein II mare. She’s a big, stunningly beautiful mare and in her second time out this year received second place with a score of 72.727 in Training Level Test 3. Earlier this year, she won Training Level and was High score at Blue Goose.

< Silva was very proud of Amy Heron, who rode her mare Cece in first level. They had their best test so far and finished third. Emily O’Neill, one of Silva’s top riders, rode all three and obviously does a terrific job with them. All three horses, plus several other talented young horses, are for sale - go to https://www.boydandsilvamartin.com/horse-type/dressage-sales-horses/ for more information. Devon Seery, Silva’s other top rider, and Duvent were also out this weekend. While Duvent has been off with a cracked hoof for a number of weeks, it was good to see this talented team back competing. They won their Third Level Test with a qualifying score of 64.103. It was also nice to have Devon’s friend Nate with us - he was quite helpful loading the young horses in the trailer and when there was an issue about backing up he simply gently but decisively lifted them!
