Cross Country School For Local Junior Riders at Windurru!

This past Sunday Boyd was kind enough to spend the morning teaching several young riders from the area on the new training track and cross country course at Windurra USA!  Three of the four girls are active members of the Brandywine Hounds Pony Club and were treated to this day by their DC, Beth Bradley-Johnson, who wanted to reward members for their fundraising efforts throughout the season.

Boyd started the lesson by addressing proper XC stirrup length and galloping position, before taking the girls out onto the new training track to get the crew warmed up and moving forward.  They then started over some smaller logs and the keyhole before progressing to a variety of more challenging questions set up in the grass stadium field.

Boyd made sure that every sort of question was addressed on the course, review their position over ditches, skinnies, banks and through the water complex. It was a great review for the girls who will be going to Plantation Field’s last start trial of the season, being held next weekend on Halloween!  What a great wrap up to the 2015 eventing season for these kids.

Here’s some combined footage of the girls in actions.  Thank you Boyd for such a great day!!
