Great Meadow International

This coming weekend is a big one for Eventing: with so many cancellations due to Covid-19, The Great Meadow International has turned into one of the premier events for the year.  Some of the best horses around are going to be competing this weekend.
I have had to step back from riding after overdoing it, but I had a good visit with the doctor yesterday.  He said my leg looks great, and I am getting very close getting back in the saddle. I feel no pain and I am working hard at physical therapy three times a week. I am hungry to get back into it, but I want to give myself the correct amount of time to heal.
With that in mind, this weekend we have called in Phillip to ride both Red and Luke in the 4-star. The basic goal is to use this event to gain qualification and a good fitness run for both horses. Big Phil will most likely not go for broke on Sunday in the cross country. We want both horses in good shape for the end of the year goal when I am back on them.
Young Mike Pendleton will be aboard Fonz, Contessa and Bonito in the 3-Star class. All three horses look in good shape. Like Phillip, Mike will be looking for a good solid run on all three of the horses to have them in good shape for the end of the year. The ground should be great, so this is a fantastic opportunity to get them out.
I believe there will be a live feed on the event this week. A lot of the information can be found at GreatMeadowinternational.com
