Rosa Cha is a talented homebred of Boyd and Silva’s, foaled in Australia.  She is an Oldenburg by Heath Ryan’s stallion Regardez Moi, out of Jasmine W (by Richmeed Medallion), and she is part of the Martin’s family. Rosa took Silva to her first Nations Cup, in 2014.

It is not by chance that she promised greatness: she is by Regardez Moi, (Who competed at the World Cup Finals) who is by the great Westphalian stallion Rubinstein. Her dam is Yasmin, who is by Medallion, who is by Matcho.

Rosa has shown great potential throughout her career. Standing at 16.2hh she exudes brilliance and talent and has all the makings of a future star.   Early in her career, At her first 3 competitions, she won all of her classes (Training level score of %70.8) with a championship at her last show.

The plan after Silva’s accident and was to return to the Grand Prix level with this lovely mare, but in 2017 Rosa foundered as a result of contracting Potomac Horse Fever. Rosa had been vaccinated against the disease, and the founder diagnosis was devastating. Silva thought that she might never compete again.

After a year of stall rest, Rosa did have a miraculous recovery, returning to competition in 2019.  Silva’s hope was to remain competing at Grand Prix, and they did have one triumphant return at that level, winning the GP at Bruce’s field in Aiken in 2019.  But the determination was made that to continue at the Grand Prix level of competition would not be fair to this mare.

Silva enjoyed 2 FEI wins on the small tour at Dressage at Devon in 2019.  This was a remarkable moment for Silva and the Rosa Cha Syndicate.  With the cancellation of most competitions in 2020, Silva made the decision to hand over the reins to longtime friend, client and supporter Pam Murphy – keep an eye on this pair on the small tour.

In addition to Rosa’s competitive talents, she is also the dam of Hannah Lu W.

In 2014 Silva represented the US for the first time in team competition, helping win Team Gold in the Nations Cup competition at the CDIO Wellington, riding her homebred mare Rosa Cha W, who is owned by the Rosa Cha W Syndicate.  Silva and Rosa have participated in high performance training sessions with US Chef d’Equipe Robert Dover and Silva is looking forward to moving Rosa up to the Grand Prix level.
