Kicking off the 2017 Plantation Field International

Conditions look near perfect this weekend for our local event, the Plantation Field International. We might get a few showers which could make the footing even better.

My plan for the horses is:

Barry: He’s still very green at this level and this will be his first CIC**. A completion is needed for qualification, so we will aim for a clear round but not go for the time on cross country.

Blackfoot Mystery (Red): I’m trying to be a bit gentle on his legs by running him in the 2-star. He needs a bit of a quicker run to build his fitness up for Fair Hill. Should finish in the top few.

Shamwari: Like Red, I’m trying to protect him a little bit by jumping over the smaller jumps; he also needs a bit of a gallop in order to have him ready for Fair Hill.

Crackerjack: Crackers looks to be in good shape. I will try to be competitive if I can control him cross country!

Long Island T (Ludwig): This is Ludwig’s first three star and a clear round is needed. I will try to be competitive without taking any chances on the cross country. This will be a big test for us.

Tsetserleg (Thomas): This boy is going great guns. We will give it a good crack!
