Message from Boyd: Back in the Saddle Soon

I have been a bit laid up for the past few weeks after my fall on cross country at Plantation Field International. After three weeks of discomfort, I went back to the doctor, got an MRI, and we discovered a fracture in my pelvis. It sounds horrible, but it’s much easier to rehab than a torn groin, which I thought was the injury.

I am lucky to have a bunch of very good riders around me keeping the horses going. Silva has been working a few of my younger horses for me; she took Wabanaki to the Dressage Championships in Virginia last week and won the 1st level Championship. Irish show jumper Oliver McCarthy has been jumping the bulk of my upper level horses. He has been working hard on my Intermediate, German-bred mare Maya, whom he showed at Princeton in New Jersey last weekend.

I am healing up well, doing lots of teaching, and I am hoping to be back on in a couple of weeks.
