Amy Lindgren and I are proud to announce that we’ve bred a foal that’s very closely related to our prelim star Ray Price. Their dam is a Dutch/Thoroughbred cross that I imported from Australia a couple years ago, called Fair Fiona . She’s one the best jumping horses I’ve ever had, so we took an embryo from her and bred to Mary Hazzard’s Mystic Replica. The sire is by one of the all-time great American Eventing lines, Babamist, who shows up in a lot of Bruce Davidson’s top horses. Our new filly clocks in at about 80% Thoroughbred and 20% Dutch Warmblood.
Amy and myself have yet to come up with a name for her, so if you have any great suggestions please leave them in the comments section!
We’re very fortunate that 1978 US Eventing Team rider Mary Hazzard has been taking good care of our mare and foaled her a couple of nights ago. Mary’s a great friend and a wonderful supporter of eventing, and I can’t thank her enough for looking after our mare for the past year and through the upcoming summer at her farm in Unionville.
