Pan Am Games Training Camp at Stable View

We’ve arrived yesterday at Stable View in Aiken for the US Eventing Team Training Camp in preparation for the 2019 Pan Am Games in Lima, Peru. The buildup to the Pan Am Games has been good with Thomas, and I put together a short video about some of the training we’ve done with him the past few weeks including show jumping at Princeton, cross country schooling, and his fitness work. Stable View is obviously a fantastic location for a training camp not only because it’s a brilliant facility but it’s about halfway to Miami and gives the horses a nice break before they ship out tomorrow night.

The first couple days of camp are focused on dressage. Dressage judge James Burtwell is working with us and I plan to give Thomas a light jump school tomorrow, before he heads to Miami tomorrow night. All the horses look in good condition and we had a wonderful reception dinner last night thanks to Barry and Cyndy Olliff. I think the horses fly to Peru Saturday and should have 4 or 5 days to prepare once we arrive. I’m also feeling fit and strong and ready for action.
