Reinier Sold

A big congratulations to Ellen Fitzgerald of Twin Fox Farm in Kentucky for purchasing the Loughnatousa Reinier this week. Reinier joined us in March in Aiken thanks to Mark Beecher, who encouraged the owners, Nell and Charles Noell, to place the horse with us to be sold. Reinier was bred by the famous Tim Beecher in Ireland, did a little foxhunting, then came to America. He was a little too spicy as a hunter/jumper, so he started his eventing career at the beginning of 2015. I must say I’m so impressed with the quality of this grey gelding, he did his first official horse trials earlier this year and it felt like he’d been eventing for ages. He went up to prelim before his sale.

Reinier also became a star at the George Morris clinic when timber champion jockey Mark Beecher showed all the eventers how to show jump, with Big George alternately screaming at him and complimenting him.

I’d sincerely like to thank Nell and Charles for placing the horse with us on Mark’s advice. It’s been a wonderful experience competing an event horse for this family who are usually consumed with racing and show jumping. I look forward to seeing Reinier’s progress as an event horse in the Kentucky area.
