Stable View Advanced

I’m heading to Aiken today, to Stable View, for their first $75,000 Advanced horse trials. I’ve never been to Aiken this time of year so it’ll be interesting to see what it’s like. I’ve got four horses entered, 2 seasoned advanced horses and two newbies at this level. It’s a good prize pool and it’s great to see eventing is starting to come up with some good cash prizes for its premier events; it makes a big trip like this worth it.

The two horses having a try are Stephen Blauner and Nancy Hathaway’s Bonito and Chris Turner’s Tsetserleg. It’s their first advanced and I’d like to get this under their belt before trying them out at the 3* level next year

My more experienced horses are Steady Eddie, owned by George and Gretchen Wintersteen, Denise Lahey and Pierre Colin, and Welcome Shadow, owned by Craig and Gloria Callen. Steady Eddie is for sale and has been in sizzling form since Rolex this year.  Welcome Shadow, who will hopefully fly to France a few days later, will be using this as a prep for the Pau CCI4*. I plan to give her a good confident run around the course.

Eric Bull and his team have been hard at work on the new Advanced cross country fences, and EventingNation has a sneak peek: http://eventingnation.com/a-sneak-peak-at-the-stable-view-oktoberfest-h-t-cross-country-course/

I’m looking forward to the event and will be sharing news and photos throughout the weekend.
