RK3DE 2017: Competition Recap, Sponsor Signings, Course Walks & Fans Galore!

Each year the RK3DE is non-stop action for Boyd & Silva, his horses and the entire team that works so hard to choreograph the lead up and weekend of competition in Kentucky.  It is no simple feat to get 2 horses prepped for the biggest 4* in this country, and Boyd recognizes that he wouldn't be able to do it without the entire team at Windurra USA. This year was Maddie Parisan's and Emma O'Lone's first trip to Rolex with Boyd and we were so proud of how they quickly stepped up to the plate.  Read more...

Rolex Kentucky 2017 Dressage

The second day of dressage at the Rolex Kentucky three-day event wraps up with Steady Eddie, owned by George and Gretchen Wintersteen, Denise Lahey and Pierre Colin, tied for 14th and Crackerjack in a four-way tie for 23rd, out of 59 entries. Eddie put in a very solid effort for this placing and received high praise from Silva, who said he couldn't have done better than the performance he put in today. [LEADERBOARD] Both Silva and Boyd have a number of students competing this weekend Read more...

Backstage At Rolex!

Another action packed year at Rolex has come to a close with every moment of Boyd's day booked with riding, competing, course walks and sponsor appearances!  Each year Rolex is our moment to give back to our owners and sponsors who are such an integral part of the success at Windurra USA, and it is our pleasure to share the Rolex experience with you. With barely a moment to catch his breath, Boyd was on a plane Sunday night to England for his first appearance at Badminton aboard Crackerjack.  Read more...

Autograph Signings

One of the fun things about big events like Rolex Kentucky is connecting with fans of the sport. I had the opportunity to sign autographs for sponsors Ariat and Shires today, and Stuebben Saddlery yesterday. Tomorrow at 4:30 pm, you can find me at Purina. I was impressed by the turnout and enjoyed meeting fans young and old from around the globe. Sharing their enthusiasm for the sport we love is always a joy and connecting with people is a reminder that it is about so much more than winning trophies.         All Read more...

Boyd’s Rolex Kentucky 2015 Review

The Rolex Kentucky Three-Day Event CCI4* is over for another year and in hindsight it’ll be one of the more memorable competitions I’ve been to in Lexington, with some of the best horses and riders from around the world battling it out over a challenging cross-country course. I admit I was a bit nervous going in because I was on two very green cross-country horses, and I wondered if I was throwing them in too-deep waters early in their careers. But thankfully I have two of the biggest triers Read more...

Visit Our Sponsors in Kentucky

We had a great turnout for the SmartPak course walk! This is always a well-attended event, but this could be a new record! It was great to meet lots of eventing fans and talk about a few of the more challenges fences on Derek diGrazia's impressive cross-country course. We also enjoyed a huge turnout for the autograph signings with Stubben and Ariat. Be sure to stop by Purina today at 2pm for another signing, and Shires will be having a drawing at the VTO booth at 4:15pm. Sunday morning Read more...

2015 Rolex Kentucky Three-Day Event Dressage

Yesterday Lucy Boynton's Crackerjack put in a good test for his first four-star here at the Rolex Kentucky Three-Day Event at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington. He had some tense, green moments but scored 58.01 to tie for 45th place after the first day of competition. This afternoon Stephen Blauner's Master Frisky was the last to go and score 47.0 for a respectable 12th place. The weather forecast is for heavy rain tomorrow afternoon, and "Mikey" will go right in the thick of it. Crackers Read more...
