Hannah Lu, owned by Sarah Reese and Joan White, was great this weekend in the dressage show at Stable View. I just kind of changed the way I ride her, warming up with a light seat and keeping things a little loose and that works really well for her, since she tends to be a bit of a tight horse. She was really good, she placed 2nd to Shawna Harding in the PSG with 69% and won the I-1 on Sunday with 68% which was really good for her.

My cross country coach Phillip Dutton took Ray Price and Long Island T out for a school at the new Boyd Martin/ETB Equine Construction Schooling Cross Country Course at Stable View yesterday, and it was awesome. Phillip really honed in on their rideability and practiced some of the jumping and turning exercises that these horses will encounter at the advanced level of competition. We have a sensational group of horses ready to start their first event of the year right here at our winter base in Aiken at the Stable View Horse Trials. I have entered a few of the upper level horses in the Open Preliminary, just to give them a nice easy outing before their first Advanced or Intermediate in a couple of weeks at Pine Top.
We got a good hit of rain here in Aiken yesterday, so conditions should be grand.

The new US Eventing Team coach Erik Duvander was in Aiken this week, coaching at Stable View. He worked with Shammie and he even hopped on and had a feel of him. Shammie looks in great shape and I plan to take him to Wellington, Florida in early February to do some pure dressage and jumping.

Here are some quick videos of Contessa, owned by Gloria Callen, Densey Juvonen, Fernanda Kellogg, and Kelly Morgan, schooling at Stable View Farm in Aiken, SC. We decided to put a number of the cross country portables, built by ETB Equine Construction, in the outdoor jumping ring, which has excellent all-weather footing by Attwood Equestrian Surfaces.
As you can see, Contessa is a jumping machine!

Don’t miss this unique learning opportunity! Silva is conducting a one-day "Fix A Test" clinic at Stable View on 2/7 from 8am - 5pm. Riders will ride a dressage test of their choice (including eventing tests) and receive a score as they would at a show.
Silva will discuss the test results and work with the rider on ways to improve their test. Afterwards, riders will have the opportunity to re-ride the test, or another test of that level, and have it scored.
