US Eventing Horses Passed the Jog and Ready to Go

Tsetserleg and the rest of the US horses passed the trot up with flying colors today at the World Equestrian Games in Tryon. We will do dressage at 1:40pm tomorrow, the second to go of the US Team. Thomas is feeling great, so I anticipate a good test. The weather has been pretty warm and humid, so I’ve shortened his workouts a bit and ridden him more frequently instead of for longer rides but he’s in good nick and the rest of the team look great so I think we’re in for a good championship I Read more...

Getting Settled in for WEG at Tryon International Equestrian Center

Team USA is getting settled in at the Tryon International Equestrian Center for the 2018 FEI World Equestrian Games; there's a lot of excitement as well as disappointment as Marilyn Little's mare RF Scandalous came up a bit lame after our last gallop and has retired from the team. She's a horse that was capable of an individual gold medal so that's a big disappointment but Will Coleman is a four-star machine and a strong replacement in my opinion. Thomas has arrived in great shape and we are Read more...

Updates from Boyd: Eddie Rerouted to Pau, Thomas Ready for WEG, and Leo’s Coming Home

The last couple of months have been pretty hectic, with events all over North America every weekend and some of our top horses preparing for the biggest events in the world. I had got Steady Eddie all set to go to Burghley, and he had a great run around  Millbrook in his preparation, but unfortunately the Team USA selectors and management pulled me aside and advised against competing since it’s so close to the FEI World Equestrian Games in Tryon in a couple weeks' time. Initially I was furious Read more...

Boyd’s Training Update from Wellington

By recommendation of Chef d'Equipe Erik Duvander, Boyd is down in Wellington for a few days focusing specifically on his dressage and show jumping with dressage coach Scott Hassler and show jumping coach Richard Picken.  Both Boyd and Phillip are taking this time to work with these gentlemen to sharpen their skills on select horses in a laser focused environment.
