Heading Home from Stable View

All the horses are in good form this morning after a busy and successful one-day Advanced Horse Trial yesterday at Stable View.   Running 4 horses in the Advanced on a tight time schedule went off without a hitch and Boyd was quite pleased with the performance of all the horses, including his 2 greener horses, Bonito and Tsetserleg, making the step up to this level.  The more seasoned horses, Welcome Shadow and Steady Eddie certainly earned their keep this weekend, sending the team home with some Read more...

Reflections on Nations Cup and The Plan for Rio

This weekend's mandatory outing and Nation's Cup at Great Meadow International was a solid success for Team USA, taking home the win over Canada and Great Britain.  Our reserve horses selected for the Nation's Cup Team all ran quite well, and Clark Montgomery's and Loughan Glen's win proved why they were chosen as a member for the Olympic team. Thoughts on Olympic Selection

Boyd is back in the USA and has had a couple of days to let it sink in that he's heading to Rio this summer. Here are his thoughts: I was nervously waiting in Germany for the phone to ring on Monday. I knew I was in with a good chance on Blackfoot Mystery, but you obviously never know what the selectors are thinking. I was very pleased and thankful that Red and I got the call-up.
