Kicking off the Three-Day Season at The Fork 2018

The Fork CIC and WEG Test Event was a good kickoff for the group of Windurra event horses starting their season here. Boyd had a busy weekend with six horses to pilot, and yesterday’s cross country on the White Oak side of the property. Today he jumped off Eddie at the show jumping and onto Cortez to head to cross country, with a Superman-style wardrobe change on the fly. Thanks to grooms Sidney Baughman and Bradley Champagne, everyone stayed on schedule and showed up to the right phase at the right time and wearing the correct tack.

Boyd said, “I tried to really set the horses up for their spring three-day events and rode with that plan in mind. I’m making a big effort not to have any injuries this year so I did not push for the time on cross country today. All of the horses went great, I was really happy with them.”

Next weekend Boyd will take a separate group of horses to Fair Hill to start their season, and at the end of April Tsetserleg and Steady Eddie will head to Kentucky for the first CCI4* of the year.
